Bluetooth Smart Scanner App Reviews

Needs instructions

Like other reviewers have said, this app needs instructions. After reading other reviews and using it to try and find a Fitbit, I have gathered that most devices have meaningless names within the app. The RSSI is a signal strength measurement. They are negative numbers, so note that higher numbers will appear smaller. In my experience the signal strength hovered between -99 and -85 until you got within 10 feet of the object. Remember that the signal goes right through the floor and that there will be "pockets" of increased signal strength due to the interaction between the signal and metallic objects within the house (or the walls) that can make it misleading at times to use it as a tool for finding a lost Bluetooth device. When the signal got up to -60 I knew I was pretty close - I was within 3 feet. It rose above -50 when I was around one foot away. So in short it fluctuates around a lot until youre pretty close, but -60ish meant I was on the right trail!! Good luck with your search!

Worked great!!

My wife lost her FitBit so I got this since I knew it was still in the house (we were getting low battery emails from the app, so it was connected to her phone). Took me about 10 minutes to find it in the closet on the shelf under clothes. It actually labeled it FLEX, so it was easy. It was finding MANY Bluetooth devises in my house, but the FitBit was the only one with a name. I recommend this app!!

Found fitbit flex quickly

With this app, I was able to find my fitbit in 2 minutes . . . it helped that my house is only one story.

Disappointed With This App

The Bluetooth Smart Scanner turned out to be pretty dumb! Ive got multiple screen shots of this in action, or lack thereof, rather, not displaying anything but signal strength and what I assume to be a UUID of sorts!

Flash misfit

Found my Flash Misfit in 30min because I had to Google for directions. If its at -75 and lower means your close to device. Really works, very happy. If you have a "Flash"it will show up as "Shine"when its searching.

Useless

How does this even work??? All I know is the numbers didnt change even with my Fitbit 1ft away on my wrist. I took it off and the numbers were all still nonsense Deleted the app immediately.

Sucked at 1st, until I read reviews

Just like the reviews say, it needs instructions. But once I realized I needed to STOP the scan, then click the i for info, and swipe on the sound, I found my Fitbit lost in a tub of camping gear within 10 minutes!!

User

It worked, after I read reviews to lean lower numbers are closer. Turning sound on helps, too. Great tool.
